CASTA AND GARREL IN LUMIO
Louis Garrel and Lætitia Casta got married last Saturday in the village of Lumio in Corsica, where Jacques Mouclier once had his house, located a few kilometers from Calvi. The Village is hanging on the Corsican mountain facing the citadel of Calvi where it is said that Admiral Nelson would have lost his eye.
Paris Match reminds us that Lætitia Casta owns a villa in Lumio in which her grandmother worked as a housekeeper. This marriage took everyone’s attention because the two stars were present at the same time at the last Cannes Film Festival, but did not want to climb the stairs of the palace of the festivals together.
Who is Louis Garrel, Laetitia Casta’s new husband? This 39-year-old comedian is the son of film director Philippe Garrel, and regularly plays in French independent films. He has never played in big blockbusters, but has nevertheless managed to create a solid career. Continue reading

The three Gulf countries and Egypt accused Qatar of supporting terrorism and destabilizing the region. Qatar which shares its only land border with Saudi Arabia has rejected the accusations, calling them “unjustified” and “baseless.”
Qatari citizens have been told they have 14 days to leave Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the UAE, and those countries also banned their own citizens from entering Qatar. Continue reading
LINDBERGH CROSSING THE ATLANTIC
Ermanno Scervino has asked the photographer Peter Lindbergh to launch the fall advertising campaign of his label. Set in Paris, the images are fronted by Italian model Mariacarla Boscono.
Flanked by male model Victor Norlander, Boscono is captured strolling on the riverfront of the Seine in the black, white and colored images.
Scervino said Boscono was “perfect” for the campaign, explaining how “thanks to her personality, she is able to interpret all my creations in an original and authentic way.”
As the designer wanted a strong and independent woman to embody his fall collection, Boscono is styled in mannish garments a total-white suit and flat, lace-up shoes. More feminine light dresses, embellished with pleats and details in lace, are coupled with military-inspired, oversize coats with fur inserts. Continue reading

HENNEQUIN SOUL PHOTOGRAPHER
Yesterday I met a human being who was dripping with talent. Although the climb was treacherous to the hill of Saint-Cloud, the view from the top was worth it all.
A true artist from head to toe, he could even be the son of Patrick Demarchelier. His presence was piercing. “I have always been fascinated by the great painters” mused John, who crafts portraits with the grace of the renaissance painters. He interprets the light and the dark, the tonality and the relationships between the colours, the compositions and the general ambience in a way that only he can.
He is the Vermeer of photography. I adore his almost cinematic compositions, the movement in his photos brings the subject matter to life, creating a tangible sense of vulnerability. Continue reading

TUNIS FASHION WEEK
In today’s world, the same 10k euro dress sold in 100 points of sales all around the world does not make the difference and does not interest rich clients. Luxury clients want more privacy and exclusivity and do not matter about price. In 2017, he or she also looks for more social responsibility and care for ecology.
If Paris is recognised worlwide as the capital of Haute Couture, Tunis aims to be the capital of the Ready-Couture as well as a perfect destination for Pre-Collections happenings.
Our concept is to offer a single 3 days event that gathers buyers, UNHI clients and press from all around the world, likewise, a key-in-hand opportunity to organize a Pre-Collection or Ready-Couture fashion show creating impactful events and photo contents for the brands.
For the second consecutive year, the Elite Model Look contest is joining the Tunis Fashion Week . By allowing the organization of a Tunisian competition, during the closing evening, which federates youth around fashion and modeling, the agency Elite accompanies Tunisia in its desire for international recognition. LUXURY SALES FORECASTS
Sales of personal luxury goods in 2017 will reach some 254 billion euros to 259 billion euros, up from last year’s 249 billion euros, according to the studies. By 2020, the personal luxury goods market is seen reaching 290 billion euros.
In terms of market expectations in the various geographies, there were also a couple of variations. The personal luxury goods market in North America, which in October was forecasting to grow by 3 percent this year, is now seen expanding by 2 percent, in part due to the continued crisis in the department store industry.
Latin America, last fall forecasted an expansion by 3 percent in 2017, is now seen growing by a modest 1 percent this year, in part due to less favorable currency conditions. Continue reading

MCQUEEN’S SOVEREIGNTY
Last Saturday it was Pippa Middleton wedding and The Duchess of Cambridge did her best to remain as low-key. She was dressed in Alexander McQueen and for the occasion she chose a dress suited her attitude.
The Duchess of Cambridge arrived at St Mark’s Church with the pageboys and flower girls. There was no way she would ever risk upstaging the bride, like her sister did in her curve-hugging Alexander McQueen gown at Westminster Abbey six years ago. Instead, the duchess wore a custom-made, Forties-style midi dress by McQueen, the same fashion house that created her wedding gown.
The dress had full sleeves, a peplum waist and full skirt, and its peachy pink color complemented the cascade of roses around the door of the church. Her hat, adorned with a large rose, was designed by milliner Jane Taylor, and her morganite earrings were from jeweler Kiki McDonough. The stiletto heels were Gianvito Rossi. Continue reading

THE TRIANGLE BALENCIAGA
Demna Gvasalia is keeping things busy at Balenciaga. Two months after staging the most acclaimed show of the Paris fashion season, Balenciaga is preparing a major new store on Avenue Montaigne, the famed shopping strip. The boutique will be located at 57 Avenue Montaigne, in what Parisians call the Golden Triangle, the area demarcated by Avenue Montaigne, Avenue George V and the Champs Elysées.
The new store will be in the style used by Gvasalia when he radically revamped Balenciaga’s boutique on rue St Honoré in March. Behind huge plate glass windows, clothes are hung from high-tech steel tracks running diagonally beneath silver fire protection piping. Designed as a high-tech warehouse, the space also includes aluminum foil ceilings, changing rooms in cast concrete, and scattered leather benches. Continue reading
VUITTON JAPAN TRIP
On Sunday night, Louis Vuitton privatized Shinbashi Street in the heart of Kyoto’s medieval district to celebrate its cruise 2018 collection. Guests including Michelle Williams, Isabelle Huppert, Laura Harrier and Sophie Turner mingled with gaggles of geishas by lantern light, and top city officials gave speeches to mark the occasion.
In an unprecedented move, Vuitton took over 15 of the street’s historic restaurants to host its guests. The evening before, it had booked three of the city’s temples, including the prestigious Sennyū-ji temple, which Emperor Akihito often visits and which had never before hosted a private event.
With such build-up, there was a risk that artistic director Nicolas Ghesquière’s clothes would be overshadowed by the production. He more than rose to the occasion, with a lineup that paid tribute to Japan’s rich traditions, while further mining the tough-girl aesthetic he has established since joining the brand in 2013.
