SURROUNDING BY INSPIRATION

INSPIRATIONFashion designers will certainly agree that the main source behind design is Inspiration. Spiritus means ‘Blow of God’. While being a fashion designer the basic requirement is that you must come up with some exclusive designs that are original in its nature. Inspiration sometimes serves as a magical and mysterious occurrence that helps the designer to blend his inspiration with his creativeness and produces a unique combination from that.

A hard working fashion designer is without any doubt an incredible and prolific artist who is able to create designs out of everything that he can see.

Designers always roam around with a notebook where they jot down the different things that they experience while travelling from one place to another. Continue reading

PAULA RAIA SAO PAULO 2016

paula-raia

São Paulo shows presented a mix of historical and cultural references. It feels timely that local designers are starting to look within Brazil to create an authentic style, and in the front rows there’s a lot of enthusiasm about the fact that the collections aren’t taking their cues from Paris.

Quite different from the breakneck pace of the industry. Interestingly, she chose a proper timing of work and forced to go at your own pace.

With her, time passes slowly. Models wore long off-white dresses differentiated by such unexpected textures as fishnet, ropes, and soft fringe.

Raia, who believes in slow fashion, presents her collection only once a year, during the Spring season.

Maybe Mr Wargnier should take a look at bresilian designers?

FASHION REVAMPS ITSELF

vintageFashion never dies away what goes away definitely comes back after some time. Fashion revamps itself each time by bringing the old classical dresses or designs with a modern and innovative touch. It is also considered as the old wine in new bottle. If you ask the designers they will agree that the design and ideas on which today’s fashion world is working is borrowed from yesteryear’s designs and styles. The vintage clothing and accessories are very much in demand in the modern era. Vintage clothing encompasses a host of eras and time period like the flapper of the 1920s, bohemian of the 1960s, hipster of the 1980s and so on. With its base being so vast there is bound that everyone will have something for them.

Presentation of all these styles uniquely in your dressing sense can only be done through the vintage style. If you want to have something unique and exceptional for yourself then you can opt for this option. There is a misconception among the Continue reading

ISABEL MARANT NO ?

isamarrantOn Madison Avenue, a cocktail party, and a dinner at CEO Mark Lee’s home is not something Barneys New York gives to just anyone. Such is the case for Isabel Marant, who was feted with a cocktail party and dinner last week. Of course, the sheer number of women strutting through Barneys’ seventh floor in floaty Marant tops and tight trousers during the party was enough to show that the designer is a sure hit among consumers. “I could have sold my company a hundred times, I could have designed other labels a hundred times, and that’s not what I’m looking for.” Continue reading

FRANCE BANS ULTRA-THIN MODELS

modelsLast Friday, French deputies voted to ban ultra-thin catwalk models, despite howls of protest from modelling agencies in the world’s fashion capital. “Anyone whose body mass index… is below a certain level will not be able to work as a catwalk model anymore” according to the amendment voted in the National Assembly lower house of parliament.

Agencies found employing models considered too thin could be liable for a fine of up to 75,000 euros ($85,000) and six months in jail. “The prospect of such a punishment will have the effect of regulating the entire sector,” said Olivier Veran, the deputy proposing the amendment, who said that similar measures had been taken in Spain, Italy and Israel.

Health Minister Marisol Touraine had previously said that young models should “eat well and look after their health”. “This is an important message to young women who see these models as an aesthetic example.” However, the National Union of Modelling Agencies has Continue reading

RED HEADS AND BRUNETTES

REDHAIRRed heads, blondes and brunettes. Who has more fun? Apparently blondes do. And in second position? Red heads are still considered the sexiest.

In my office the other week, during a break, a conversation took place about a recent report that sperm banks no longer want red-headed donors. Apparently, sperm from red-headed donors is in demand in Ireland and to some degree in the United States. Why? People want their children to look like them, and tall of course.

In the best of all possible worlds, all children would be a blessing, and it would not matter what color their hair might be (or how they were conceived). But in the real world, there are all sorts of reasons why parents want their children to look like them physically, including a wish to avoid comments and questions, some of which might be rude Continue reading
