BONBON COUTURE
The Dutch fashion designer duo has unveiled a new addition to its “Bonbon” fragrance line, with a “haute couture” inspired reinterpretation of the Viktor & Rolf scent. The Eau de Parfum is due out in August 2016.
Two years after launching its gourmand fragrance, “Bonbon,” Dutch designers Viktor & Rolf have reinterpreted the scent — as well as its bottle — in a haute couture version.
Between elegance and glamour, “Bonbon Couture” is directly inspired by the label’s haute couture creations, which generally bear the brand’s iconic bow — a Viktor & Rolf signature. It’s therefore no surprise to see the scent revisit the bow with new proportions. Continue reading

Tonight, la Bourse du Commerce, the future Pinault foundation, has served as a showcase for the fans of the Chinese and her thousand couture extravagances.

Luxury goods group Kering was ordered on Wednesday to pay $13 million to the fashion designer Hedi Slimane.
For a few years Slimane had been working for Kering’s Yves Saint Laurent brand, and designed clothes for singer songwriter David Bowie and actor Brad Pitt among others. He brought the case after his employer did not apply a non-compete clause that was in his contract when they parted company in April.
Slimane argued that the clause should have been applied, along with associated financial compensation. “We won,” said the lawyer. “I’m happy because this its a natural outcome. The contract terms were absolutely clear.” Kering said it would appeal. Continue reading
A SUCCESS FASHION HISTORY BY ACCIDENT
In 1995, Bernadette Chirac wished to give Princess Diana a unique handbag on the occasion of her visit to Paris. When France’s first lady contacted Dior in her search for such a bag, the House offered her a model unofficially named Chouchou at the time. It was officially rechristened Princesse in the short term.
The bag, black in color, was presented to the former Lady Diana at the inauguration of the Cézanne exhibition at the Grand Palais. It was then often photographed carried by Diana at public events: she had it with her in Birmingham during an official visit; again a few weeks later during a stay in Argentina; then on several further occasions.
It was soon being described as “iconic” and “legendary”. Dior was launched in larger series, with its name changed to Lady Dior. Continue reading
