Kering and The New Parsons School of Design kicked off their fifth annual Empowering Imagination design competition to compete the LVMH Awards.
The competition is a showcase of twelve 2016 graduates of the Parsons BFA Fashion Design program.

The president of LVMH Fragrance Brands and president of Parfums Givenchy has announced his exit, effective June 30. The French luxury conglomerate established the LVMH Fragrance Brands division in 2010. Part of LVMH’s perfumes and cosmetics arm, the division includes Givenchy, Kenzo, Emilio Pucci and Fendi.
As CEO, Alain Lorenzo oversaw the sales force of Givenchy, Kenzo, Pucci and Fendi fragrances, working on creative, marketing and communications to support scents produced by these LVMH brands. Mr. Lorenzo has also been Parfums Givenchy’s longstanding president.

Lilia Litkovskaya was born in Kyiv. Starting from 2006 she has been creating seasonal collections in collaboration with other young designers. Rodrigo Bazan has stepped down as president of Alexander Wang. The Argentinian-born executive joined the company in its first major growth phase, overseeing the expansion of new product categories and retail markets, including the rollout of 27 stores worldwide. He was the brand’s first appointed president since its launch in 2005. Prior to Alexander Wang, Bazan was based in Paris as the vice president and general manager, Europe, Middle East and India of Marc Jacobs International LLC.
A spokesman for Alexander Wang told the company was thankful for Bazan’s accomplishments and plans to pursue the next steps for its continued business development.

The Actress Marion Cotillard has recently renewed her contract with Dior for her role as the face of Dior’s iconic handbag in a set of visuals photographed by Peter Lindbergh along the banks of the Seine.
The latest edition of the Lady Dior appears in black leather topstitched with the emblematic cannage motif, with a wide, crystal-embroidered strap.
Another in a metalized version features micro-cannage, giving a contemporary twist to the pattern seen on the Napoleon-III chairs on which Christian Dior himself used to seat his guests at the couture showcases.

Said Mahrouf: Moroccan-born, Said Mahrouf received his master’s degree in fashion design after studying at the Amsterdam Rietveld Academy and Pratt Institute (New York). He initially focussed on site-specific performances and costume design, but over the years his attention shifted towards fashion design.

In fact Karl Lagerfeld’s retirement is already planned, and rumours on whom will replace him is discussed on internet. Karl is indeed negotiating to stay one more year for a sum of 24 million euros that is why the family is currently considering an alternative.

This Grande Dame embodied elegance to the French and was one of the iconic figures of fashion since 1940. Her Haute Couture clothes will be sold at an auction on May 12th, in Paris.
