CAROLINA HERRERA

Carolina Herrera Ready to Wear Fall Winter 2015 in New YorkLast Monday, the favorite designer of the former first lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Carolina Herrera made waves on the catwalk for a Fall/Winter collection inspired by water.

Anna Wintour, the famous fashion journalist of Vogue, dressed in a black leather and red fur coat, went directly  backstage before the show for a quick embrace and to give a look at the new collection designed by Herrera.

At the first row we could notice the actress Dianna Agron and Olivia Palermo as guests of honor. Among the celebrities atttending to the show there was also Ivanka Trump, daughter of Donald and a businesswoman with her own jewelry, the american supermodel Karlie Kloss and the newly designer Victoria Beckham.

Caroline Herrera has designed clothes which move in a fantastic way and it is a young collection. She broke with catwalk rules by kitting her models out in flat shoes and foots, rather than towering stilettos.

DITA VON N.Y.

DITALuxury fashion eyewear brand, Dita, has opened a new store in New York. The boutique is the brand’s first on the East Coast, and follows openings in Los Angeles and Tokyo. The store is located on 273 Lafayette Street, in the heart of Soho, and measures 900 ft². The interiors were designed by Tag Front architecture studio, who have designed all the Dita boutiques. Luxurious hand-finished interiors are contrasted with bare concrete walls and an exposed ceiling, for an LA-meets-NYC-style.

John Juniper and Jeff Solorio of Dita say: “We are excited to bring our West Coast aesthetic Continue reading

VICTOR & ROLF

CANAL2Since their return to Haute Couture, the designers Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren have presented a pink, plastic and black pebble-esque fabric collection. To add to their list of eccentric couture themes, the duo came up with a blooming flower garden this season. Imagine a gorgeous garden drenched with color from early Spring to the first frost of Autumn. A daydream, you say?

Among the twenty dresses the designers produced, they increasingly added color to a base print of an ink blue flower outline. Those who recall the pairs’ tulle topiary ready-to-wear show could see this couture collection as a high-end extrapolation of that same concept.

Because flowers bloom at varying times of the year, and some plants are annual, dying each Winter, the design of flower gardens take into consideration a sequence of bloom and even of consistent color combinations, through varying seasons.

Dress came embellished with giant stalks of wheat and sometimes veiled in outsized floral lace or whorls of paper flowers. It is fashion Haute couture or not ? Continue reading

BOWIE WONG

bowiewong3At the Peninsula Hotel we sent the famous fashion blogger Dgena who only reorted onto the designer Bowie Wong’s catwalk this year as she is preparing her A level. Two years ago we met Bowie Wong in Paris thanks to Dimitri, the Manager of the magazine L’Official for UK, Australie and New Zealand.

What striked us was the predominant red colour all along the show. Never forget that the color red in China symbolised luck, happiness, marriage, health, celebrity and prosperity as the presented dresses were in red.

For this collection Bowie Wong bet on the volume and for each dress he has used at least three different materials. One of the underskirts of this new collection Spring-Summer 2015 consisted of exactly 3 888 pink floyds in origami. This was really impressing because the work for this collection was of better quality and studied than the precedent one. We like the collection and the designer. There is a real potential and we will carry on to follow him.

Bowie Wong was born in Hong Kong, China in 1969. As the son of a Chinese opera singer, Continue reading

DELAGE IN LONDON

DELAGE2Founded a year ago by Philippe A. de Vilmorin, Delage is a new brand in luxury Leather Goods and luggage. On the 9th February Delage is opening a new Leather Goods store in Notting Hill in London.

After having been running brands like Lee Cooper, Georges Rech, ou encore Smalto, Philippe A. de Vilmorin bought the brand name Delage in 2011. Delage was a very well-known mythic car brand who was created in 1905.
This is to that inheritance that the brand Delage refers. Quilted leather banquettes, the shape of the grille, are made in noble materials such as python, grained and smooth calf or foal (€800 to €3,200).

The brand offers a second line named Delage 1927. This latter consists of coated canvas bags and of a line dedicated to men. Every leather goods are made in Portugal. Today, Delage has approximately 30 outlets in the world (France, Swizerland or even in the USA).

KERING : WELCOME TO GUESS

GUCCIGucci, owned by French luxury goods group Kering SA , has suited to Court the Italien label Guess and has accused the trademark Guess of selling products such as wallets and belts which copied or mimicked its own designs.

The Court of Paris has rejected Gucci’s claims, finding no trademark infringement or unfair competition said Guess in a statement on Monday.

GUCCI has then stated that it will “certainly and immediately bring an appeal against the decision”.

The battle – which has already been fought in Italian and American courts – came to a close in Paris on Friday, with the court ruling that no trademark violation, no counterfeiting and no unfair competition had occurred. Gucci had requested Continue reading

ON AURA TOUT VU

ONAURATOUTVUCANALON AURA TOUT VU loves to distort Haute Couture, fashion and glam. This season, in a spray of sequins and preciosity and magical crystals, the spirit of the designers “On Aura Tout Vu” “re-dress” our daily life, showing us new facets, giving it sparkle, and offering it back to us a shiny precious and rafinated collection.

All lines travel around the same spirit of distortion and fantasia, a desire to play with fabrics, objects, light, colors, so that true and false are always mingling….

And what if the false were true? said the Queen as she delved into the looking glass, because in the wonderful land truth is the only hazard of beauty. Reminding us how the realm of beauty has games of its own like pleasure and seduction.

At the end the model wears on her breast ‘stop violence just dance’, which sent a subliminal message to the French Fashion Federation who fired them for any raison this year. Everybody knows that the Federation does not award talented fashion designers, but only their friends.

RALPH & RUSSO

Ralph and Russo Couture Spring Summer 2015 ParisImmortalised in Botticelli’s Primavera and Poussin ‘s Realm of Flora, the Goddess of Spring is celebrated by Ralph & Russo in a magistic collection that  symbolises nature’s regenerative powers. For Spring/Summer 2015, the Ralph & Russo woman is an exultant deity, whose gifts lend themselves to delight.

Ralph & Russo enlist floral metamorphic myths as allegories of this collection. Alluring and fertile, the flower thematizes Haute Couture as its most abundant.

The collection also alludes to balletic exuberance. Sheaths of organza caress the body tenderly, and voluminous cloud-like gazar contrasts with fluid chiffons. Nyctinastic capes in jet balck and midnight blue cocoon the body, fending off the night’s nectar thieves. Continue reading

FRANCK SORBIER

Frank Sorbier Couture Spring Summer 2015 Paris
Franck Sorbier’s wound due to the death of their “Love bird” is like an indelible mark of their friend of 14 years old. At first, the feelings are like anesthetized but very quickly, the creation comes as a fulgurance.

The Master Franck Sorbier took us into a cloud of bubbles to remember. Tribute to the little black dress of Haute Couture, symbolizing mourning but also the memory of what was Haute Couture.

Beautiful Memories are also the quintessence of fashion. And as Camus used to say, “the way you name things, can add to the misery of the world.” Is not it, Mr. Wargnier?

Franck’s heart intelligence equaled that of his mind, whose creations, such as commitments in life, makes the brilliance of his soul as much as questions in this world.

Thank you sir.

ATELIER GUSTAVO LINS

Atelier Gustavolins Couture Spring Summer 2015 Paris
Gustavo Lins’ Haute Couture collection titled “Amazon.” Lins comes from architecture, having veered away from this early passion in favor of design, and his obsession with structure has formed his entire body of work. He opens a stunning new shop in the heart of Paris, not far from his atelier.

From this new collection emanates aa profound simplicity thanks to these uncluttered silhouettes cut from the noblest materials: cashmere, silk, leathers. But in letting go, the designer has perhaps struck alchemical gold in the form of a collection that recalls traditional couture, with a deep sense of timelessness.

To note that the management of the French Fashion Federation was seated on the 3rd row !!! It reminds us that last year at the “On Aura Tout Vu” show, they also were at the third row and this year they have been fired.

Unless Mr Wargnier he is looking for a new architect for his new house?

FABULOUS MARNI

MARNI2015Launched in 1994, Marni is a luxury brand favored by a discerning coterie of international women who are curious and sophisticated: not necessarily fashion-driven, but with a strong identity and a personal vision. The Marni woman is hard to pinpoint. Elusive and arty, she likes to play with forms, prints, textures and colors. Marni is in fact, essentially, a mindset: slightly out of the schemes and subtly subversive. It’s a quirky, unpredictable visual language: graphic, rigorous. Consuelo Castiglioni is the author.

The Swiss-born designer conveys her personal sense of elegance and experimental approach to materials and colors, her unique flair for mixing prints and shapes in collections that are at once irreverent and emotional, with an eclectic yet coherent Continue reading

MENSFASHIONWEEKMILANOIf the beard is an undeniable plugged, it is clear that his equivalent is the suit. Masculin and elegant, the suit has it all and we’re willing to bet that you will not say otherwise!

Cardigans and glee club blazers collection were geared toward the American golden boy. Yorkshire color palette of pine green, grey, Atlantic Ocean blue and burgundy, blazers and neckties, as well as high-waisted, pleated 1930’s inspired trousers that taper at the calf. Milano is allways the top of the top for the men’s fashion week, very smart, very chic and very italian, indeed.
