Revolution in the French Fédération of Couture, it has upgraded its website and opened more to the digital world. It is a blow of modernity, they are finally launching new digital tools, an Application iphone, and broadcast on the social media like twitter etc… It looks like a train which is always late.
It is strange to start a new “Has Been” strategy. What have they done all those years ! Instagramme, Twitter… are a must to have. However what about the Dark Net, and other new tools to broadcast your information. You said “Has Been”, I would dare to say: “Dead”.
By the way do not forget to add images as we are no more in the 1990’s when we could only have text. To pay an application € 50 000, when you can have the same application for € 5 000. No wonder why the Fédération has no money for promoting new designers, the future talents.
Disobedience, in the eyes of anyone who has read history, is man’s original virtue. It is through disobedience that progress has been made, through disobedience and through rebellion (Oscar Wild)

Analysts have projected that menswear would become a very lucrative segment of the fashion industry based partly on the buying power that men possess. Today, volumes have been growing at 5% per annum, yet the amount spent per unit has been increasing by 10% a year, which means that men are spending more on each bag they are purchasing.
“Man Bags,” which are considered to be totes, duffels, clutches, backpacks, messenger and bowling bags, represent 1 in 5 of all sales in the global luxury handbag market. The aggregate value of men’s bags sales have doubled with men now spending over $7 billion on luxury bags. Continue reading

The 1980’s fashion can be seen as a mixture from very diverse styles. There was not only one single trend or style; you could be whoever you want to be.
Women began to ‘dress for success’. They wore ‘men’ suits for powerwomen to adapt to the shapes of men’s clothing. Women in the workplace were no longer unusual. A long, wide blazer combined with shoulderpads, knee-high skirts and simple, elegant shoes with high heels. And not to forget the famous trenchcoat.
In the 1980s and continuing through the mid 1990s casual wear became a fashion trend. Leggings were a big part of this trend. They were usually worn with oversized sweaters and sweatshirts in the cooler months and with oversized tee shirts in the warmers months. Continue reading

French fashion designer Andre Courreges, symbol of a style revolution in the 1960s, has died at the age of 92, his company announced on Friday. Courreges, who stopped working in the 1990s, passed away on Thursday after a 30-year battle with Parkinson’s disease, the Courreges company said in a statement.
Courrèges was influenced by modern architecture, technology, new fabrics, and modernism and futurism in art and design. Several designers lay similar claim, including Coco Chanel, who worked with and knew many modern artists, and Mary Quant, whose career parallels those of Courrèges in some ways (both Courrèges and Mary Quant lay claim to the invention of the miniskirt). The rapper, who started on a collaboration with Nike, left the brand to sign on with Adidas to take on the role of designer for his Yeezy collections.
He sings, “I ain’t drop an album but the shoes went platinum”, and directly attacks Nike: « Yeezy Yeezy Yeezy, just jumped over Jumpman” and “Nike, Nike treats employees just like slaves/ Gave LeBron a billi’ not to run away”.
Not surprisingly, the media have been abuzz with comments ever since the song dropped on Friday. However, what will have as effect the song, and the buzz, on Adidas?

The Lady in black is inspired by the 20s. Her allure and mystery are highlighted by black tulle, French velvet draping, total black or night blue dresses. Nothing is left to chance, the aim is creating a super-feminine, intriguing figure.
The roaring 20s of the Great Gatsby, when women wore drop-waist dresses embellished with sequins and stones, or with exotic detailing, like the feathers at Costume National. Evening dresses adorned with sequins are fluid and do not emphasize the curves, elegance, playfulness and sensuousness are found also in the sartorial details.
Ruffles, flounces wrap the body like black rose petals. Explicit and provocative, the tulle dress leaves little to the imagination, or the plunging V-neckline with tulle insert.
I wanted to feel like a princess in my palace, rather than the old lady who lived in the shoe. Then the typical slipper wasn’t working for my lifestyle any longer: I wanted something more suitable to an elegant environment.
I ventured out to specialty stores in my neighborhood but do not find what I had in mind. So I went to where you find everything and anything these days: the Internet. My search became more of a quest. I had a very clear image in my head of the perfect slipper.
I decided to draw some ideas on a paper and after I showed my ideas, I was encouraged to not only have them made, but also to sell them in our stores. I then studied shoe design, who offered me wonderful guidance as I embarked on this journey. Continue reading
