SHOES OR PAIN !
The first time I have seen “Shoes: Pleasure and Pain at the Victoria and Albert Museum (which runs until 31st January 2016) I left shaking my head at the apparently chaotic jumble of footwear crammed into a small-ish boudoir of an area; followed by a much bigger space upstairs devoted to people with no particular taste but an obsession in collecting smart shoes or endless pairs of sneakers.
The first pair is by Vivienne Westwood, made famous by a fall: Naomi Campbell tumbled on the catwalk when wearing them back in 1993. The ‘bath clogs’ came from a historic Egyptian hammam – a smart way for high society bathers to raise themselves above the water slewing across the floor. Continue reading
MASSENET A PORTER
After returning from a vacation, Net-a-Porter founder Natalie Massenet tendered her resignation from the online fashion retailer ahead of a planned merger with Italian rival Yoox. According to someone, she leaves with more than 100 million pounds ($153 million) after selling shares in Net-a-Porter. Massenet and Yoox declined to provide an immediate comment.
Yoox agreed to buy Net-a-Porter from Cie. Financiere Richemont SA in March. The all-stock deal, which is expected to close this month, will create the world’s largest online luxury-goods retailer. Massenet was to be chairman of the combined entity and Yoox founder Federico Marchetti its chief executive officer. Continue reading

As key Opinion Leaders, when the times of the collections come, we ask for invitations to the shows. Unfortunately we have been receiving for the last 6 years the same formated email from “students” having an internship at LVMH. Besides those emails are full of mistakes.
We wonder why such companies employ qualified people and ask students to do their jobs. Maybe those communication Managers are not paid enough to fulfill their job and it is a way to claim for a better salary. besides those groups try to make us believe that they invest 100% of their benefits in France. In fact, the sad reality it is that they employ stagiaires to do the jobs to avoid recruiting qualified employees.
If it carries on like that, we will soon see ‘stagiaires’ replacing models, staff, General Manager and so on….. It is true that LVMH cannot really be considered Continue reading

Antonio Banderas is smiling in the middle of sewing bust. On the photo posted on Instagram on August 24, the Spanish actor explained that he was beginning his second week at Central Saint Martins, the prestigious fashion school in London. He attends an intensive course during a month to better known fashion design and fashion world!
The star learns the basic of the job to prepare his next film in which he plays the role of the Italian fashion designer Gianni Versace.
The film will be on the founder of the milanese fashion house Versace killed in Miami Beach on July 15, 1997. The film is directed by Danish Director, Bille August and he will begin in March 2016.

I think it was Coco Chanel who used to say if you’re original, be ready to be copied. It is a shame to see Sephora windows filled with Paco Rabanne perfumes which is a mix of Cartier plus Cartier! Merely a copy of Cartier’s design. I love the style. I love the story, but I hate the xerox.
Copiers go fast. Marc Ange, the copyist did “La Bergère et le Bouc” but nobody have never heard from it !!! However he knows Cartier’s know-how and design and he has only copied Cartier’s design for the new Paco Rabanne Perfume. Continue reading

LITTLE LAMB McCARTNEY
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) publihed a four-minute video which filmed sheep being mistreated by its workers in the Ovis 21 farm network.
Ovis 21 is an Argentinian wool farm, internationally known for providing merino wool used in Patagoni’s base lawyers and insulation.
Following the release, the British designer Stella McCartney, who used to source wool from this company, announced that her brand will cease to use the fiber from this supplier and wrote: “I am very saddened to report that we have had to cease sourcing some of our sustainable wool from Ovis 21 in Patagonia”. SHINSEGAE International has just acquired the French house of Haute Couture of the couturier Paul Poiret which has been inactive for 80 years. The brand was sold by Luvanis SA, run by Arnaud de Lummen, who had the project to launch a revival plan.

For its first women and men fashion collection, Disneyland Paris has chosen the brand “Eleven Paris”.
The amusement park will launch its capsule collection which has revisited the clothes of Disney characters ranging from sleeping beauty, Minnie’s headband to the 101 Dalmatiens.
The collection will be exclusively sold at prices starting at €39.99 in the boutiques of Disneyland hotel and Disney Fashion in Disney Village from 1st September.

SPORTSWEAR THE FUTURE OF FASHION
