ARMANI AND THE CAPORALATO

It’s a real dirty on the reputation of a big name in Italian fashion. Giorgio Armani is accused of using illegal Chinese workers in degrading conditions to manufacture bags and accessories.
For a period of one year, Giorgio Armani Operations SpA, which produces clothing, accessories, and decorative items for the Giorgio Armani Group brands, has been placed under receivership.

DION LEE NEW YORK 2023

Roots under my words, leaves at my fingertips, I dreamed of creating a lyrical lineage, but it will not be for today. There is an immutable rule in Fashion Week that the shows always start late and at Dion Lee’s show it is in an empty loft in midtown Manhattan that we have been waiting for 50 minutes, as if the designer had not finished this collection that has already started for over 6 months.

All his life as a designer he was a chronic latecomer, he missed his appointments with me, and yet when he dies we will agree to say that he left too early; the last straw! Here it is the party in New York, clud 54 and tutti quanti, and for a good reason the designer born of the largest island of Oceania has found a niche by creating what is practically an outfit for the Rave parties, Kangaroo obliges. Lee has a look always carried on the sex, its cuts not precise reveals the most often a body of model who is not perfect either.

Tight dresses, tank tops with puffed sleeves, mini skirts and jeans that are only a wear two even are legion. The collection was slightly more refined than that of Kim Shui without losing his identity on the fact that he is a cool person. And the stars he worships including Julia Fox and Ice Spice sitting in the front row, confirmed their disease of narcissus syndrome, and on the other side of the party people for a drug sex and iPhone Video until the end of the night. It is necessary to “fuck” the pressure.

HERMÈS FAKE BAGS THE END OF THE BEGINNING

Are there more fake than real Birkin bags on the market? Twenty-three people were charged, including nine former Hermès employees, the news agency reported. A 41-year-old man was sentenced, in absentia, to six years in prison and fined 1.5 million euros; a warrant has been issued for his arrest. The individual was accused of being the mastermind of the network, which included a workshop in Hong Kong.

Some 400 handbags were made in clandestine workshops in France and Hong Kong, while 800 came from the house’s employee program, which allows workers to make their own handbags.

Hundreds of copied Birkin bags, supplied by the international network, were sold in France. Another individual, age 66, was judged to be the main supplier and sentenced to four years in prison and fined 400,000 euros. Continue reading

DEMMA GVASALIA SPITITUS

With irony you can ask questions that are delicate, but there’s a thin line between irony and sarcasm so I have to be careful not to overstep it. I made a bag for my first men’s show at Balenciaga, which was based on the classic Ikea bag. It was ironic but also authentic.

I used the blue Ikea bag during my four years as a student in Antwerp, due to its size and its price. Fifty percent of all students had the same bag for the same reasons, When I did it at Balenciaga I recycled leather that the company had on stock from previous collections, and I finished it as a luxury product. I meant it as an ironic gesture in part, taking something really cheap and moving it into the luxury realm. But it’s authentic too, and that’s why it’s been all over the internet by now. People can relate. Continue reading

A SUCCESS FASHION HISTORY BY ACCIDENT

ladydiorIn 1995, Bernadette Chirac wished to give Princess Diana a unique handbag on the occasion of her visit to Paris. When France’s first lady contacted Dior in her search for such a bag, the House offered her a model unofficially named Chouchou at the time. It was officially rechristened Princesse in the short term.

The bag, black in color, was presented to the former Lady Diana at the inauguration of the Cézanne exhibition at the Grand Palais. It was then often photographed carried by Diana at public events: she had it with her in Birmingham during an official visit; again a few weeks later during a stay in Argentina; then on several further occasions.

It was soon being described as “iconic” and “legendary”. Dior was launched in larger series, with its name changed to Lady Dior. Continue reading

SAVE MY BAG

savemybag2SMB (Save My Bag), as the name suggests, comes from the idea of creating a handbag cover made which is waterproof, washable, soft and elastic, and could act as a cover protecting handbags from shocks, rain etc. Save My Bag is born and it is so full of personality that it becomes a cult bag on its own.

The young brand is born in Bergamo in 2013 from Stefano and Valentina Agazzi’s idea, aimed from the beginning on the philosophy of “Be cool beyond the rules”, reassessing the rules and the cliché of fashion.

SMB is a desire that becomes product, ironic and iconic, an historic style with no price responsibility and made accessible for every type of women.

Save My Bag is an iconic bag by excellence, realized in more than Continue reading

ACNE STUDIOS BAG COLLECTION

Buckle jeans blue denim 1400 Eur

“For me a bag is more than an object, it’s a personaI thing. When I started looking at bags, the intention was not to do an ”it-bag”, but to explore the world of bags and create different styles and characters. I really enjoy designing bags since it’s so sculptural, almost like creating a piece of art”, Jonny Johansson, Acne Studios Creative Director.

Not only do people who are already obsessed with bags love them, but they’ve seeped over into the consciousness of much more casual fashion-watchers, often through some sort of celebrity- or entertainment-focused notoriety.

From rope stitching to graphic clean lines, the first full range of bags by the brand includes three models: Buckle jeans, Hero jeans and Continue reading

DELAGE IN LONDON

DELAGE2Founded a year ago by Philippe A. de Vilmorin, Delage is a new brand in luxury Leather Goods and luggage. On the 9th February Delage is opening a new Leather Goods store in Notting Hill in London.

After having been running brands like Lee Cooper, Georges Rech, ou encore Smalto, Philippe A. de Vilmorin bought the brand name Delage in 2011. Delage was a very well-known mythic car brand who was created in 1905.
This is to that inheritance that the brand Delage refers. Quilted leather banquettes, the shape of the grille, are made in noble materials such as python, grained and smooth calf or foal (€800 to €3,200).

The brand offers a second line named Delage 1927. This latter consists of coated canvas bags and of a line dedicated to men. Every leather goods are made in Portugal. Today, Delage has approximately 30 outlets in the world (France, Swizerland or even in the USA).

VERTU AND BENTLEY

BENTLEY

For the presentation of Haute Couture, we highly recommend you the new Vertu telephone that Vertu has developed for Bentley a Grade 5 titanium casing and a sleek quilted trim to match Bentley styling.

With a Grade 5 titanium, engine-turned back plate, echoing Bentley’s instrument panel, this edition also carries a forged metal winged Bentley badge and contains exclusive Bentley content.

The fine attention to detail is carried through to the screws, modelled on the air vents of Bentley’s automobiles. It’s wrapped in diamond-stitched, quilted calf leather, crafted by one of Europe’s oldest tanneries using traditional methods.

THE “DIANE”

DIANEIt may be a truth universally acknowledged that Diane Kruger is the queen of the red carpet, but until now she’s left all of the designing up to her pals (Jason, Karl, Prabal—you know the ones).

That’s about to change, however, as the actress revealed that she is collaborating with her dressmaker BFF Jason Wu on a handbag called—what else?—the “Diane.”

Kruger told “Elle” about the upcoming project, but didn’t reveal much except that she’s “kind of obsessed with it.” Here’s what we do know, however: Wu has a knack for designing the kind of handbags that could make even the schlubbiest of outfits look sophisticated. Combine that with Kruger’s ability to look impeccable at all times (seriously, it’s uncanny!), and the “Diane” is already miles ahead of the competition.

Other than Chanel bags, Diane is clearly a major fan of designer brands and has carried some of the most beautiful accessories over her years in the spotlight. Come to think of it, she might have the most enviable closet of all the celebrities we talk about.
