Fashion editors, buyers and fans braved heavy rain and a freezing New York morning for one thing only: a fall/winter 2017 collection of classic, wearable clothes. There was a British feel with heritage fabrics and a color palette inspired by a gentleman’s club oxblood, navy and black mixed with more feminine rose-beige, powder blue and lipstick red. Sophie Theallet is a French fashion designer whose clients include First Lady Michelle Obama and she is promoted by the famous American fashion gourou, Anna Wintour, herself.
Sophie Theallet, inspired by French Casual Chic, designs swatches of lace wrapped around models’ necks which pushed the romance or the flirty vibe which seems slightly fussy. There were a few stumbles — quite literally as the final model tried to make her way up and down the runway in her gold full-length ruffled dress, but no stumbles for Sophie, who for a long time has been considered as a very promising designer. She successfully combines a Spain trip with a France 1950’s and, thus, reinvents the casual chic.
It is always extraordinary that such French fashion designers have to go abroad to be recognised. This is surely due, still the same problem, a lack of professionalism and agoraphobia from the people who lead the Federation or institutions governing fashion in France!!!
Anyway, at Canal-Luxe group, we will be delighted to report on you if you come to present your collection. We will put at your disposal our Continue reading

Zana Bayne launched her first hand-crafted leather harness collection in 2010. After graduating with a BFA in Conceptual Art from the San Francisco Art Institute she moved to Berlin before relocating to New York City in 2009 where she began developing her harness accessory business.
The namesake brand of the New York-based designer presents meticulously handcrafted leather accessories that play on the lines of the body. Subtle bondage undertones and defined silhouettes evoke a sense of refinement, accentuating the style of the individual wearer. This season it was a great opportunity for me to take people who I love and respect and wear, and have them integrate what they do into my vision.”
And that vision was one of “Moonbathers.” Looking to night imagery having to do with moonlight glimmering across a body of water — a darkness befitting a brand rooted in leather harnesses — the designer sent out looks focused on using her leather accessories as apparel. “It’s an accessories-based collection,” Bayne clarified. “Our goal is to blur the lines between accessories and clothing, so we’re always going to push the leather a little bit further.”
